You know me

I prayed this morning for His divine peace to be upon me, for this overwhelmingly, lonely world to be set aside and for me to only feel Him in my life. After my prayer I opened up today’s devotional (Jesus Calling Aug. 24) and this is what I found.

I am all around you, hovering over you even as you seek My Face. I am nearer than you dare believe, closer than the air you breathe. If my children could only recognize My Presence, they would never feel lonely again.

 As I read this I thought to myself with a thankful heart, He knows all, He knew I would come to work overwhelmed with this week’s concerns. He knew I would be drawn to this particular devotional on this particular day and He would speak the most perfect words, the words that would sooth my aching heart and fill me with His joy. So as I dried my eyes and continued to read, I only became more speechless.

I know every thought before you think it, every word before you speak it. My Presence impinges on your innermost being, I read you like an open large-print book... Be blessed by My intimate nearness. Since I live in you, let Me also live through you, shining My Light into darkness.

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
 Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
Psalm 139:1-4
