This post is a work in progress, these are my thoughts, ideas and inspirations at random on Abraham so don't be surprised it you get a bit lost.

Abram means exalted father > Abraham means father of multitudes
*He was the first man mention to weep in the OT.
*The word Hebrew was given to Abraham by the Canaanites which means a man fro beyond the river.
Sarai means Princess > Sarah means Queen
*Her's was the first funeral mention in the OT.
Abraham and Sarah were a man and woman of faith, they were a team.
Romans 4:18-26
New Living Translation (NLT)
20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. 22 And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. 23 And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.
He is the God of Boundless resources. The only limit is in us.
God wants us to receive the greater benefits that are in his promises. He shows us these truths in the life of Abraham. As we study the life of Abraham we will better understand the many promises God has made for us.
By having faith like Abraham you become one of his descendants. For Abraham is the father of many nations. Romans 4:16
God is a covenant keeping God, understanding that covenant allows us to be recipients of his promises. To understand the promise we must study Abraham's life. If we have faith everything is within reach but we must live righteous and obedient lives.
The first time the word love is ever used in the Old Testament is in Genesis 22:2 when God speaks of Abraham's love for his only son Isaac. God affirmed Abraham's love for Isaac.
This was Abraham's greatest test of faith. But a faith that can't be tested, can't be trusted. The tests that God permits helps us to discover whether our faith is true or false. Abraham trusted God would work things our for his own glory.
By not taking Isaac as a sacrifice God shows us that it was not Abraham's son he wanted, it was Abraham's heart he was after.
Faith is not believing in spite of evidence, faith is obeying in spite of consequence.
The first time the word love is used in the New Testament is when God is affirming His love for Jesus his only son.
God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.
God did sacrifice Christ for our sins.
Was Abraham's trial a foretelling of Christ's future?
Unless God reveals himself to us, how can we find him? Abraham's greatness depended on one thing. He had faith in God and he believed in Him who revealed himself.
